The Image..."Mallard" is an oil I finished in 06. It's
inspired by cubism and hard edge abstraction. I
like to combine the two, especially when representing an
animal, person, still life, landscape or seascape.
I make a drawing first, but it is really a frame or
armature for the different fields of color.
Within each section, I like to make lovely gradations of
color. I mostly keep the hard edges of the
drawing, but sometimes they have to be overrun.
The aim is to finish with a harmonious, unified whole
with lots of interesting passages within.
The Canvas is gallery wrapped, so you don't need to
frame. The sides are painted very dark reddish brown. The
painting is varnished, wired and ready to hang, including corner bumpers on the back
of the canvas to protect your walls. Signed on the front, signed and
titled on the back. Certificate of Authenticity is included.
Shipping is via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery,
fully insured. I do my own
shipping, and take great care to ship professionally. Shipping
original art is an art unto itself! Your painting will be wrapped,
supported, cushioned, sealed and boxed with
plenty of protective packaging materials to protect the painting during shipping.
